Life Cycle

Jewish life is enriched by the rituals attached to the milestones – birth, bar/bat mitzvah, wedding, anniversary, end-of-life – that punctuate our lives. The beauty and sanctity of Jewish ritual binds us to generations of Jews who have come before us and to the continuity of our people. Every life cycle event, both the light and the dark, can and should be infused with meaning and relevance.

Chabad of South Austin is here to share your greatest joys and to provide comfort in life’s most difficult times. Please connect with us for facilitation of any life cycle events. Understanding the sensitivity of many life cycle events, our team will be happy to guide you through the meaningful process.

Baby Naming

Celebrate the arrival of a newborn with a beautiful and meaningful ceremony, welcoming them into the covenant and bestowing a Hebrew name. We can arrange a baby naming and blessing ceremony for the birth of a girl at your home or another space.

No matter your preference, we are here to guide you through this special moment and create a warm, personalized celebration for your family.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

We take great pride in preparing bar/bat mitzvah boys and girls for their momentous day. We ensure that each young individual embarks on their life journey with knowledge, confidence, and connection to their Jewish roots.

Upon completion, on or around their birthday, we hold the ceremony with his/her friends, family and community. Together, we celebrate this significant moment, empowering them as they continue into their Jewish journey.

Brit Milah

We are here to support and guide you in arranging a Brit Milah (ritual circumcision). If you have any questions or need information on how to proceed, please reach out to us. We can connect you with a Mohel, explain the ceremony, and co-officiate, whether at home or synagogue.

Yahrtzeits / Memorial

In times of loss, we are here to offer support and guidance. If you need guidance on how to proceed after the passing of a relative or friend, we are here to help you navigate the mourning process and provide the support you need. Please don’t hesitate to contact us during this challenging time.

Whether you wish to honor a loved one’s memory through saying the Kaddish or remembering them on the anniversary of their passing (yartzeit), please reach out to us. We can provide you with the necessary information and assistance to navigate this sensitive time.

Honoring your loved one’s memory through acts of kindness is a meaningful mitzvah. Giving tzedakah in their name perpetuates goodness and supports those in need, reflecting their values and creating a lasting impact. If you wish to learn more about this beautiful tradition and how to give in their honor, please reach out to us.
